Adamawa Hajj Commission Refunds N157.9m To 2023 Pilgrims For Poor Services
The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Commission has refunded a total of N157,952,880 to 2,586 pilgrims who participated in the 2023 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement issued on Monday in Yola by Aisha Sa’ad, the commission’s information officer, the refund serves as compensation for the substandard services provided to the pilgrims during their stay in the holy land.
Each pilgrim received N61,080, which was allocated to them following a refund from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The funds were distributed among the 36 states of Nigeria.
The statement further revealed that the disbursement process was successfully completed, with all beneficiaries receiving their payments directly into their bank accounts.
