Middle Belt Forum Inaugurates Kogi Chapter, Promises Bilateral Cooperation

A regional sociopolitical organization, the Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has inaugurated its Kogi State chapter of the forum, with a charge to make concerted efforts towards ensuring that future generation from the region sustain their culture and tradition, by promoting the interests of the people of the Middle Belt region.

The National President, Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr. Pogu Bitrus gave the charge in Lokoja, Kogites state capital at the inauguration ceremony of the Fifteen-man State Executive Council on Tuesday.

Dr. Bitrus who was represented by the National Vice President, Mallam Idi Waziri noted that Kogi is very central and strategic in Nigeria.

According to the president, the State Executive Council must strive to meet the objective of the forum of fos­tering credible leadership and developmental projects in partnership with other stakeholders across the country.

He explained that the inauguration of the Kogi State Executives Committee was long over due given the strategic position of the State in the central region.

Bitrus noted that if Kogi Executive Committee was not inaugurated the Middle Belt Forum would not have started, noting that the forum is for the struggle for the over all development of the people of the middle belt region.

He assured that the Forum will continue to promote the unity and cultural heritage of member states

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman, Chief David Ehimony promised that the new Executive Committee will keep up with the objective of the forum.

Ehimony added that the State Chapter will always key into national Programmes organised by the forum, and further promised not to disappoint.

He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his commitment to partner with the Forum in the transformation of the region, promising that the forum will continue to partner with the State government.

David Ehimony was inaugurated as Chairman, while Shittu Omala will serve as Deputy Chairman.

Others inaugurated are Raji Usman – Secretary; Philip Orebiyi – VC West; Bako Shigaba -VC East; M. Rabiu – VC Central

Others are Elesho Abiodun – Financial Secretary; Comrade A. Suleiman -Youth Leader; Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh -Publicity Secretary; Pastor Moses Bako – Cultural Officer; Aturu Christiana -Women leader; Awal Imam -Treasurer; Isaka Mamud -Assistant Secretary, and Abdulrahman Wuya – Legal adviser.
